Reliable Tankless Water Heaters in Kansas City
Tankless water heaters operate very differently than traditional tank-style water heaters. With a traditional water heater, water sits in a large cylindrical tank and receives routine heat. With a tankless water heater, there’s no preheating necessary. Rather, this device heats water as you turn on your hot water faucet. This way, it doesn’t waste any unnecessary energy.
A tankless water heater has various components, including some of the following:
- Heating elements
- Thermostat
- Inlet temperature sensor
- Flow sensor
- Terminal block
- Outlet temperature sensor
- Water inlet and outlet lines
Unfortunately, a problem with just one of these components can spell disaster for your entire water heater. One of the more common issues that you may experience with a gas water heater is that it isn’t producing hot water. This is typically an indication of a faulty component in its ignition section. This component could be a faulty electric ignitor, a blown-out pilot light, a clog in the fuel supply orifice, or a malfunctioning flame sensor.
Another issue you may experience is leakage around your water heater. Most often, this is the result of a loose connection in one of your supply or intake lines. These lines may simply be old and have corrosion, allowing water to seep out. Or, a connection may be faulty and need to undergo replacement. One of our plumbing professionals will be better able to assess the source of the leak and remedy the problem efficiently.
One pesky issue your tankless water heater may have is that it produces extremely hot water. Be sure to start by checking the thermostat setting to make sure it’s within a reasonable range. If it seems okay, the issue may be with the thermostat or one of the temperature sensors.
